APPROACHES TO ANTI ACCESS/AREA DENIAL: 25 September 2012

The increased interest in how forces will counter asymmetric and conventional A2/AD means that this year will be Amphibious Operations first dedicated A2/AD workshop take place.

Led by the USMC’s Emerging Threats Center the workshop will provide a focussed look at how forces can approach the task of overcoming an adversary’s A2/AD tactics.

This interactive and intense workshop will seek to provide answers to questions such as

  • How effective are current approaches to countering anti access/area denial tactics what effect can they have on amphibious landings?
  • Do the ‘air sea battle’ and ‘single naval battle’ CONOPS offer successful strategies to enter a contested littoral environment facing asymmetric and conventional threats?
  • What role does industry have to play in the drive to deliver a balanced and cost effective counter A2/AD strategy?
